Hi! I’m a New York City-based composer, producer and recording artist.
My approach to composing music is informed by my immersion in a century’s worth of music during my decades as a gigging musician. I developed a strong foundation in the Great American songbook, blues, soul, gypsy jazz, bossa nova, country and many eras of rock and pop. Today I combine elements of those genres with 21st century styles and electronica to create unique results.
I have written themes, cues, and underscore for short films, TV, podcasts, and for an original song for the Discovery Channel’s “Time Warp” series, I appeared on camera as bandleader and guitarist. I was also founding member of the long-running gypsy jazz band Hot Club of Los Angeles, and have performed with John King’s experimental ensemble Extreme Guitar Orchestra.
As a recording artist, I arranged American songbook standards with a minimalist Cool Jazz take on two critically-acclaimed (self-produced) albums, 2015’s “Whisper Not” and 2016’s “Look for the Silver Lining,” which earned a 4-star review from DownBeat Magazine.
I studied guitar at the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood with the legendary Joe Pass (Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson), and music theory and arranging with numerous other teachers.
